Hi my name's Louis a professional photographer who likes all varieties of photography but whilst Animals are by far my greatest challenge I also photograph weddings, because I'm not a "SPECIALIST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER" I see no reason to make wedding photography complicated and expensive and I certainly don't have a licence to print my own money like some Specialist wedding photographers I know.
A couple starting out together actually need some priority items like decent carpets, a bed and a television so why would they have to spend thousands on wedding pictures that stay inside the Italian Leather bound album for years on end without ever seeing the light of day - That's not value for money and there alternatives.
There's absolutely no difference in the quality of my pictures than the most expensive package set from a Specialist.
So to start with I have NO PACKAGES! I simply don't do them.
I don't sell albums.
I don't make you buy a super GT model DVD with romantic music and a built in tea's maid .
I don't suggest you have the password protected on-line gallery so that all your friends can buy your pictures - because they don't! and there's nearly always a charge to set it up on-line.
I don't advertise my wedding services anywhere; my business comes from the couples I've photographed and word of mouth and this terrific web site
I don't offer you copyright free images to print yourself - why should I when you haven't been charged for anything else?
I make my money from selling my pictures, not charging you £2000 for an all in Gold package.
I don't give you Personalised thank you cards, I can - but not free.
I don't provide handbag albums; they are a real waste of money, better you buy a set of satin sheets instead.
I positively won't push the very latest "Parents" album because they are to highly-priced, as much as a good portable tele.
Provided you live within a 15 mile radius of my base in Pyle/Bridgend/Kenfig Hill/Porthcawl there is NO CHARGE for the entire day of your wedding.
I only photograph one wedding service in a day, which means that I'm yours from anytime you request in the morning until the evening when I'm no longer required, still no charge for this.
When you decide you would like to engage me as your photographer we normally have an informal chat over a coffee at my place, get to know each other a little and see if we are compatible because you do have to put a great deal of trust in me, during that time you give me your ideas of what sort of wedding shots you would like me to do - I don't tell you that I'm a "reportage style photographer" and this makes the best pictures, because its your day and you have exactly the sort of pictures you want. Don't be pushed around.
So I now have all the details, the agenda, timings, the church, reception etc this is the time you pay a booking fee which ensures that I turn up and do everything I said I would but don't worry because this is taken off the price of the photographs so its not lost.
I simply NEVER let anybody down - so if I don't turn up it's because I'm dead.
All we do now is wait until a few weeks before the date and I will contact you just to see if there are any minor alterations in the script or you have changed your mind altogether. IT HAPPENS !
One last and most important job I have to do is find out who the best man is going to be because I truly believe that apart from the bride and groom he is the most important person on the day and he will be my best ally especially when it comes to sorting out friends and family group photographs, plus he has the power to make me look great which is why I cant do without his help.
I don't charge any thing for my time during your wedding day; there are no mileage costs or any other charges of any sort at all, provided you are within my working area in Mid Glamorgan and parts of West Glamorgan. You pay only for what you want - mainly you buy the pictures.
Buy your album to suit your style and budget, remember albums spend most of their lives in a dark cupboard, so don't buy that really expensive crystal bound mink made by Fairies from the bottom of your garden.
There are some terrific albums in the "extra" store which don't have company branding all over them and these are well inside most peoples budgets but buy the full A4 size album not the plain 10 x 8 size because A4 pictures won't fit into it and each page can hold 2 - 7 x 5 or 1 10 x 8 or 1 A4. You can't mount 2 7 x 5 prints per page in a 10 x 8 album without overlapping the images. The reason I only give you a cd of the purchased pictures is because I might take 3 - 500 that day and if you don't consider them worth buying then why would you want them on cd?
I will give you a cd containing all the images you have purchased, not ALL the images taken - that's free. It won't have beautiful scrolling transitions, romantic Barry Manilow love songs, fancy titles and wrapped in a Gucci bag - JUST YOUR PICTURES, you will pay for all this one way or another with the Specialist Wedding Person, but I only give you what you want to see - the pictures.
If you would like the best images to be put on line then I will do that free too, but it wont be password protected and everyone will be able to see them if they want to, but the chances that the whole UK population will be rushing to my site to see your pictures are more than slim so they will be pretty private and only seen by the people you give the site address to. Password protection is fine but you have to pay for the privilege, which is why I don't have it.
I can give you all the trimmings as extra's if you want them but they will cost more so you can essentially purchase whatever you want, I will however provide you with everything you need for the price you want to pay.
My idea of wedding photography is that I give you a price list of everything I can do for you and you simply acquire the parts you want, if you only desire the pictures then that's all you buy but there will be a cd to accompany them too.
I will provide you with the option of having any of the pictures in black & white at no extra cost.
I don't charge any extra for weekend weddings or less for midweek, I certainly don't charge huge money for the wedding ceremony which takes place at the PEAK wedding time of the year JUNE/JULY/AUGUST.

Have a cd of the images.
Buy your own album. I mount the pictures into your album and present it to you and thats the time you PAY for everything
I put the pictures on-line if requested. (Free)
2.Book me for the whole day for free. (Within my area only Bridgend/Porthcawl/Pyle/KenfigHill/Cornelly/Glamorgan/Port Talbot) Buy the pictures you want. Have a free cd or purchase the all whistles and bells DVD with music and super transitions etc.
I will purchase your choice of album and mount the pictures for you.
I can arrange for your day to be captured on video with all the trimmings, taken by a professional.
If you need super large pictures or images on canvas, even your best wedding shots onto place mats, I can do all this too.
So for the very finest photographs of your wedding day with absolutely NO FRILLS ATTACHED then choose option 1
For a far more convoluted and expensive set of precisely identical wedding photographs - choose option 2.
But Watch out for this - A few Warnings
"Madam You would really benefit by taking advantage of my special "Gold package" because it contains everything you will ever need and all the usual extras are included" - What he didn't tell you is that it's going to cost thousands and contains all the extras that you will never really need but usually makes at least 90% profit.
AND let the warnings bells sound when you hear words like "COLLECTION" "LOVE & HONOUR SET" These are very romantic words but totally meaningless and designed to make you think the photographer has a warm heart and know's exactly what he's doing and all this really gets to you when you're vulnerable and emotional about your wedding arrangements.
Plain no nonsense approach is exactly how I wanted my marriage to be photographed but unfortunately I had that "BOSSY" spectacled nit wit who took 15 minutes shooting each group photo and blamed it on the stupid girl who couldn't be bothered to go to the loo before the photos were started, that man is still around today 30 years later and still being a domineering GIT - blaming everything else but his own stupid incompetence and there's loads of "SPECIALIST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS" like this.
Every photographer takes the same amount of shots despite the amount they say they will take, because as a photographer myself I know - the more they take the more they are likely to sell , so if you don't take many they won't sell many. They all want to provide you with 30 of your favourite images developed at a large 9" x 6" size placed lovingly inside a large cream customized photo album! Because they make a lot of money from it, and how the hell can you choose just 30 from 300?
Many will give you a cd with all the pictures taken on the day, that means you get all the day's failures too and why would you want that?
The photographer gives you a cd with ALL the pictures so that you can print them to any size or amount! Beware this will have a massive cost somewhere - how else will he get paid?
WEDDING Photographs CANNOT be produced within a few minutes from being taken - snaps can - but not photographs, an accurate perfect photograph has to be professionally balanced-cropped - enhanced - sharpened - possibly manipulated and loads of other adjustments made before it is turned into a perfect photograph, otherwise WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET! This is not photography and if offered to you on your wedding day DON'T ACCEPT IT because the pictures will be dreadfully substandard compared to the professionally created photographic image which is the ONLY type of image I will allow you to buy from me.
The photo cinema DVD produced by some photographers is possibly given to you free of charge so you will have 100 or so of your wedding photo's to take home the day of your wedding! - ON THE DAY?? Apart from having a few other things on your mind, when are you going to get the chance to even see the dvd and these images will almost certainly be crude snapshots and will only contain pictures of happy guests getting slowly pie eyed or friends outside the venue having a fag, what do you expect to get from the people you didn't invite to the wedding ceremony? Unless of course he has a small army of miniature elves who are beavering away editing a hundred of the best pictures he's taken that day !
Our Specialist wedding Photographer will not only be there in the day but will stay for the evening too taking staged and candid photos all the way up to the venue closing time (Usually 1am)! Yea Right! Do you honestly want the intrusion of a strange photographer all day and all night too? He has a home to go to and you don't want a camera stuck in the faces of your guests till the venue calls TIME.
Specialist wedding photographers want to sell their most expensive service /package to you, the price can be from around £800 for the basic up to £5000 for the top of the range model (In Wales) The all inclusive package costs can be and usually are far to much money for the average couple getting married today in Wales, I refuse to force these sort of costs onto people who desperately want other more important things when they are just starting out together.
I want you to have the best possible memory of the event but not at the expense of something necessary to a newly married couple. So it's easy to budget for the cost of your wedding photography and if you want more pictures later they will be waiting for you. I don't do cheap wedding pictures but I do offer a stripped down service that offers you the opportunity to buy any part you want when you want at a price you can afford.
